Steffy Bertels is Creative Art Director at LDV United. After Hours, Steffy draws Kpop fanart to escape this world for a moment.
“Listening to Kpop is like an escape to me. This may sound like a cliché, I know, but I really mean it.”
Steffy started drawing basically from the moment she was able to hold a pencil, so she’s been drawing for as long as she can remember. She started listening to Kpop around 2012. In 2015, she drew her first Kpop fanart – a pencil drawing of Suga from the ‘Dope (쩔어)’ era - and in the beginning of 2016 she decided to launch a dedicated Instagram account k_stuffy and posted that drawing. In the meantime, Steffy’s account has 68.500 followers and you can buy her artwork on various platforms.
“It was scary to post my drawings on a platform where everybody could see them, but it also gave me a huge boost when I noticed that my drawings were being appreciated.”
We are always busy and we’re living in a world where you feel rushed most of the time. Thanks to Kpop Steffy can escape from all this. The same goes when she’s drawing. Combining these two gives her a feeling of complete freedom. As you can see on her account, she also like to work / experiment with different materials. Pencil, watercolor, acrylic paint, digital, ... she doesn’t stick to one technique. Eager to discover Kpop yourself? Find some of Steffy’s favourite tracks below.
